Surinam incumbent operator Telesur and Guyana Telecommunication & Telegraph
Company (GT&T) have signed an agreement to lay out a 1200 km fibre optic cable between Surinam and Guyana, with each company
half of the total USD 60 million investments. The new cable will run between Chaguaramas in Trinidad & Tobago, along Venezuela,
Guyana and Surinam. Odessa Major Organization Ltd has been instrumental in getting the deal completed since both telecom companies
are driven by the increasing demand for broadband services with capacity at existing cable Americas-II reaching almost saturation.
